G-13 is a classic legacy strain that has more lore than one can decipher. There is an urban myth which claims that the original cut was from a breeding program by the CIA in the late 60’s which was stolen by one of the technicians in the university where they were running experiments. However, none of this has ever been confirmed but one thing that is real, regardless of it’s origins, it has stood the test of time due to its extremely desirable profile and effects. Although they claim is that this is one of the original “hybrids”, to today’s standards, it leans very heavily towards the sativa side. It has that classic narrow leaf variety looking flower, stretched, and full of small bulbous calyxes that are densely covered in stinky, oil rich trichome heads. It has that classic “hazy” profile, which has notes of pine, citrus, rubber, spices and funk. Very distinct and easy to recognize. The smoking experience is superb, with very rich flavours from each pull, burning extremely clean and consistent. The effects are both very energizing and heavy simultaneously. In this regard, it does act like a true hybrid providing a very uplifting heady high while also being very head heavy and full body stone. A true classic and a pleasure to feature on our menu.
